Professor of Psychology and an affiliated faculty in the Doctoral Program in Education (Ed.D.) at California State University, Sacramento. Dr. Miguel holds adjunct appointments at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and at The Chicago School for Professional Psychology. He is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Dr. Miguel's research involves the study of language and symbolic behavior from a behavior analytic standpoint. Recently he has focused his research and practice on the evaluation and development of procedures to teach language and other language-mediated skills to individuals with autism.
Dr. Miguel serves as the Editor for The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and as an associate editor for The Journal of Speech and Language Pathology - Applied Behavior Analysis. He is a member of the editorial board of The Brazilian Journal of Behavior Analysis and The International Journal of Behavioral Consultation and Therapy and frequently serves as a reviewer for many behavioral journals, including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, The Psychological Record, and The Behavior Analyst. He is also in the Board of Directors of the California Association for Behavior Analysis and The Behavior Analyst Online. Dr. Miguel has published in edited books and peer-reviewed journals in both English and Portuguese.

Professor of Sociology at the University of Alberta, Canada, Graduate Fellow of the Canada Council, and Post-Graduate in Social Sciences and Humanities. He was appointed as honorary Fellow in recognition of outstanding and unusual contributions to the science and profession of Psychology from the American Psychological Association, and received a Research Award in 2000 for extraordinary research accomplishments while at the rank of Professor. He is the Director of the Behavioural Research Unit Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases Research Laboratory. He has published and presented several books and contributed to many other books, abstracts, and scientific articles. He has been invited to many professional meetings and presentations and his research has been published in the journal Obesity (formerly Obesity Research) and received coverage by the media such as, the Canadian Press, BBC News and Time Magazine. He remains actively involved in research on anorexia and obesity in 2009, and is currently funded by a grant from the National Sciences and Engineering Research Council.

Andy Bondy is president and co-founder of Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc. Dr. Bondy is an innovative leader in the field of autism and applied behavior analysis. He directed a statewide public school system for students with autism for fourteen years. He is co-author of the PECS Training Manual. He also wrote the Pyramid Approach to Education, a training manual that offers an integrated orientation to developing effective educational environments blending applied behavior analysis with functional activities and create communication strategies.
Dr. Bondy received his MA and Ph.D. from the UNC Greensboro, and completed his clinical internship in 1976 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Bondy has presented numerous papers, lectures and workshops in regional, national and international conferences and conventions on behavior analysis, PECS and the Pyramid Approach to Education. He has remained active in research and writing, and continues to develop new and innovative methods of helping children with autism and related developmental disorders

After completing undergraduate work at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela, Dr. Maria E. Malott immediately began what can only be termed a distinguished career in large scale performance management. After two years as Performance Systems Analyst for the Central Office of Personnel of Venezuela, she entered the graduate program in applied behavior analysis at Western Michigan University, obtaining her Ph.D. in 1987.
In all of this work, Dr. Malott combines systems analysis with the analysis of individual behavior within systems and, in the process, has taught dozens of corporate executives to appreciate the power of behavioral principles.
Dr. Malott has been a visiting scholar at 32 universities in 15 different countries and has served as an affiliated faculty member at five universities. She has served on four editorial boards and is the author of a book on organizational change, published in Spanish and in English, and co-author of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions of one of the most widely used and often-translated textbooks in behavior analysis: Elementary Principles of Behavior. Dr. Malott was the recipient of the 2003 Award for International Dissemination of Behavior Analysis and the 2004 Award for Outstanding Achievement in Organizational Behavior Management. In 1993, she agreed to serve as part-time executive director of the Association for Behavior Analysis. Within a few short years, the organization rose from near-bankruptcy to a financially stable scientific and professional organization. Her organizational behavior management skills have been applied to every aspect of the operation of the organization, which serves over 4,600 members and as the parent organization of 55 affiliated chapters.
Abstract: The Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) was founded in 1974. Its mission is to contribute to the well-being of society by developing, enhancing, and supporting the growth and vitality of the science of behavior through research, education, and practice. Currently ABAI has approximately 5,500 members and over 60 affiliated chapters around the world, including nearly 12,000 behavior analysts. This presentation will provide information about the Association’s background, international growth and current initiatives; as well, it will offer strategies and ideas for collaboration to further the expansion of behavior analysis in Portugal.

Abstract : The French government is developing the learning environment for children with autism spectrum disorders by directing the first center to provide Applied Behavior analysis (ABA). The implementation of ABA will be supported by extensive staff training, including teachers, school support staff and special educators. This center obtained funds from this government around one million euros for 20 children between 20 months olds to 20 years old. This Center was developed by the Behavior Analysis program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Lille. Both current research and decades of past research in the areas of human learning and behavior analysis are developed. Results from the Center would be presented.
